Meet The Locals: Costa Rica Equestrian Vacation

My name is Molly Allen Niederberger and I own Costa Rica Equestrian Vacations.  We are a full service equestrian center specializing in Equitation, Dressage, Jumping, Natural Horsemanship and Eventing.  I also offer guided horse tours on the beach and in the jungle as well as full service and private Equestrian Vacations.

My husband, Andre and I moved to Costa Rica from New Orleans, Louisiana in 2006.  I had always dreamed of living outside of the US and learning a second language and Andre had lived in South America as a child and wished to return to Latin America.

We choose the Nandamojo Valley because of its beauty and location.  In order to make a living we needed to be close enough to some of the more populated and touristy areas, but we really wanted a pristine natural environment and small town vibe.  In Paraiso, located right between Playa Negra and Playa Junquilla  we have quick and easy access to great roads that connect us to the bigger towns, but have the pristine beaches to ourselves or a handful of neighbors and guest.

I love Costa Rica because of its friendly people and diversity.  Many of our friends are from all over the world and it is normal to have at least 5 to 6 countries represented at a dinner party or gathering of friends and clients.  I also love the climate- it is always warm, but we do have different seasons.  I love “rainy” or “green” season the best!  It is so tropical and lush and even if it rains while out on a ride it feels great and refreshing!

My job is also my passion and I am so blessed to have a small finca in a tropical paradise.  If someone would have told me I would have my own riding ring surrounded by beautiful tropical flowers and trees filled with monkeys cheering me on I would never have believed it- but that is exactly where I work and play every day!
